Who We Are

Gary Busch is the founder and principal of Busch Financial Planning, an independent financial advisory firm located in suburban Houston.

Gary had a highly successful career working in information technology for a major energy company for almost 30 years, most of it in management. During his years of managing multi-million dollar budgets in the corporate world, Gary learned the importance of understanding client needs and effectively allocating limited resources to help them meet their goals, much like personal financial planning. He sees his practice as an opportunity to make a more direct and visible impact on people’s lives.

Gary holds an MBA degree along with a BA/BS in mathematics. He earned the right to use the CFP® mark of distinction (and to call himself a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional) from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

Besides being a part of the Garrett Planning Network, he is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the largest organization of professionals dedicated to championing the financial planning process. He is also a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the nation’s premier organization of comprehensive Fee-Only advisors.

Gary and his wife Sheryl are active members of their church, where Sheryl is Children’s Pastor and Gary leads small group studies on Biblical financial principles. They have a daughter in graduate school.

CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ are certification marks owned by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.

Gary Busch was quoted extensively in a CBS Money Watch article entitled, "The 12 Dumbest 401(k) Mistakes". You can read the article at http://moneywatch.bnet.com/retirement-planning/article/401k-mistakes-to-avoid/356717/
